If
you are working in discovery research, synthetic methods, process
development or even production for phase 1 and phase 2 clinical trials, and
have come to the conclusion that it is time to invest in new peptide
synthesis equipment for your lab, the Focus XC™ by AAPPTec fulfills many
requirements pertaining to scale and chemistry. A new Focus XC™ is
user-friendly, fully automated and capable of simultaneous and parallel
peptide synthesis. SMART™ software predicts difficult sequences and
automatically suggests a protocol suitable for efficient coupling and
deprotection. On-screen instructions direct users through every step of the
synthesis process with point-and-click commands which makes operating the
instrument simple. Software tells the user when and where to modify the
chemistry either by using extended deprotection, double coupling, or
substituting pseudoproline dipeptides or Dmb protected dipeptides. The
software also provides flexibility for expert chemists to develop unique new
protocols. The average reaction scales are .01mmol to 5 mmol per reactor
with 20 mg -10 g of resin. The Focus XC™ is specially designed for Fmoc and
t-Boc chemistries, and it can reliably deliver volumes as low as 200 𝝁L to
support pNA, DNA and RNA synthesis. |

Focus XC™ not only displays a graphical prediction of synthesis difficulty,
but it also calculates the solvent and reagents needed for the synthesis
according to the synthesis protocol. The concentration of the reagents are
provided, including the position where each monomer or amino acid should be
placed. The Focus XC™ SMART™ software also monitors liquid deliveries,
temperature of the reaction, washing, and emptying reaction
vessels. Solvents, amino acids and reagents are delivered precisely,
resulting in efficient reactions with lower solvent usage and lower waste. |
